So many people wonder, or maybe no one does, but Paulo insisted we include a Bio for him and a bit of an explanation of how a bush man can blog on a haphazardly regular basis from the middle of no-where. It's really quite simple, a steno pool, like any great person should have. From time to time, Paulo himself will connect and blog for you, those activities are rare, he likes to save the power for after dark "Romantic Movies," you will be able to recognize when Paulo types a post, by the length, they are usually shorter due to battery life conservation.
Paulo is able to write in his own words, on various things that he has available to him, most of the time it is the back side of a Walmart receipt that he uses to scribe that day. Once he has written his many thoughts down on whatever media is convenient, he will send it to us for posting.
As you can imagine, some days he is able to put out a lot of content, and other days not so much. Like a bowel movement when there is a delay in content, it is usually followed by a massive unloading of verbal diarhea of what we call the "P-Shit Storm." All of a sudden after days of nothing, there will be a mass influx of things to tell. How do we choose? You may ask. Well, really, we don't. We post everything that is shared, from the most zen buddhist thought to the most manic raging rant.
Paulo will say what he thinks, mean what he says and will sometimes spin things into a colourful web of tales. Other days he will vaguely write in ways that even we have trouble understanding the message. Our duty as one of his friends is to ensure his message gets out there. We may not always (read: usually don't) agree with the content he produces, and that is why this page and blog have been set up with content warnings.
You may take offence to his overly socialist ideals, or you may take offence to his super radical Eye for an Eye reaction and response to the things he is a witness to. Like all of us, he is human, and can make mistakes, will make mistakes, but will never apologize for the truth of his feelings of the moment.
With that said, we've witnessed those feelings adapt with knowledge and from time to time, they change drastically and for no reason sometimes. We call that the "P-Factor"
What we do know is that he doesn't look at any one person or group differently just because of the actions of a few people. He will instead generalize in ways that you and I may not understand because his mental reference is drawing on a diverse and different set of experiences that no other person will have shared. We've never walked a mile in his shoes (or birkenstocks depending on the season) so there is no way to fully comprehend the context of everything. This is a value and belief that should be adopted by more people. Impact vs. Intent.
Paulo's intent is to present things in a comical way, that may be a result of misunderstanding the full context of what he has witnessed, the impact in no way is to ever single out and hurt a single person or group for their values or beliefs. If you see something that is offensive to you, that means that perhaps he doesn't understand fully what you are about, not that he is actually trying to hurt you.
We are honoured to have the privilege of sharing his thoughts with you, and assure you that even though our names may be attached to these posts that they come from a place deep within the core of Paulo that we may never understand.
Through the years one universal truth has remained true to Paulo's "I don't care who the fuck you are, and where the fuck you came from, you're just as imperfect as I am. For that, you have my respect, compassion and heart. Just don't eat my fucking granola bar and we will be fine."
